Partner description

The Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) offers a practically-oriented computer science study program, and is committed to a more sustainable and equitable digital transformation for the benefit of all. At the Hasso Plattner Institute, we explore the foundations and applications of complex IT systems. Today, these are at the center of almost every organization. We take into account the entire life cycle of these systems as well as user requirements.

Role in the project

HPI has extensive and long-standing expertise in dealing with the topics of education and educational data. In 2019, HPI has developed LERNEN.cloud – a digital advanced training platform for teachers. Based on this, the HPI’s sub-project aims to explore potential users, application scenarios and results of an education profile data marketplace on the basis of LERNEN.cloud on the on hand, and to participate in the development of interfaces and metadata sets, on the other.

Planned results

  • Analysis of educational data of teachers as a relevant group of a data marketplace.
  • Contribute to the development of interfaces to ensure technical and legal compliance and interoperability with Gaia-x frameworks.

Die MOOC-Plattform des Hasso-Plattner-Instituts: MOOCs – Massive Open Online Courses – bieten eine der innovativsten Lernformen: Frei über das Internet können Lernende auf didaktisch aufbereitete multimediale Kursmaterialien zugreifen und im engen Austausch mit den anderen Kursteilnehmer:innen lernen. openHPI bietet hierbei die Möglichkeit, sich mit MOOCs im Bereich der sich rasant entwickelnden Informationstechnologien aus- und weiterzubilden.

Das HPI hat von 2017 bis 2021 mit der HPI Schul-Cloud eine sichere und datenschutzkonforme IT-Infrastruktur für Schulen entwickelt, die in der Corona-Pandemie sehr schnell ausgerollt wurde und seither Tausende Schulen in ganz Deutschland unterstützt.
